I ask myself why did they do that? Was it hatred or was it a lapse in judgement? What it was is disgraceful, disrespectful and all around inhumane. I have seen the beheading of Daniel Pearl and Nick Berg these are the actions of our enemies it’s not ours.
America is a compassionate country when we send soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines to foreign shores we land as a liberating force. I fully understand the strains and confusion and flood of emotions that accompanies combat. As the sole superpower in the world we need to lead by example and actions such as this shall not be allowed. Over the last ten years there has been incidents like this in Iraq and Afghanistan these actions only prolonged the wars.
These desecrations have inflamed the Arab populous we need to be winning hearts and minds not creating enemies and monsters. I understand that the beheading of Daniel Pearl and Nick Berg ticked many Americans off, but at the same time our Military cannot be going off and disrespecting dead individuals.
As a Candidate seeking the Americans Elect Nomination I promise you the American people as we move forward this won’t happen again. I want to make it clear the respect for the dead will be expected. We as Americans will not torture or desecrate any individual we may encounter in combat.
As Commander In Chief any further actions of this magnitude will be met with stiff punishment. If any Military personnel is convicted of crimes of desecration, they will be turned over to the Hague for crimes against Humanity. It is a terrible loss when we as humans solve our problems by war, it’s even worse desecrating a dead individual.
