“It looks like an interesting technological step forward,” Dr. Richard J. Benjamin, chief medical officer for the American National Red Cross, told FoxNews.com. “It could potentially produce large quantities in a…

Depression arises sneeringly in silences from secret places ever so boldIt laughs violently at elusive dreams whose cause painfully remain untoldIt sets up shop from the start in all the far reaches of a disappointed heartFrom there it quickly extends to a troubled mind with no intent of being kindIt meanly eases forward to a quivering soul and won’t release its gripping hold It has a painful control of a lonely life gone from glad to mad to wrenching sadIt enjoys its…

Possible study of anthrax vaccine’s effectiveness in children stirs debate.

ma administration is wrestling with the thorny question of whether scientists should inject healthy children with the anthrax vaccine to see whether the shots would safely protect them against a bioterrorism attack. The other option is to wait until an attack happens and then try to gather data from children whose parents agree to inoculate them in the face of an actual threat. A key working group of federal advisers in September endorsed testing, sparking objections from those who consider… Continue

Money's all gone

Money is all gone

Author unknown

I’m about to lose my home, my money is all gone

I can’t even give my dog his bone, my money is all gone

Guess I’d better write a song or just read some poetry, my money is all gone

I’m certainly “ghetto” bound without the safety of higher ground

My money is all gone

“When the water runs too deep, and the mountain climbs too steep, and the sun shines too much heat, and the ends simply won’t meet all because my money is all…

If you but Knew

IF YOU BUT KNEW

Author Unknown (about a mom and dad with their loving child)

If You But Knew

How all our days seemed filled with concerns for you,

How sometimes in the silent night

Your eyes trill through ours with their tender light,

How often we hear your sounds when others speak,

How you give purpose and form to everything we seek—

Oh our child, more real than though such dreams come true,

If You But Knew

Could You But Guess

How you…

With a Rose in my hand

-Stephanie Riley, age 13 wrote the poem below about rose in hand

on the occasion of her paternal grandmother's death-1996.

It clearly express the normal feeling of a child at the death of a loving older family member ( not every family includes grandparents); no poem can clearly express the feelings of a loving older parent of the death of their young child that they were too busy showing their love with things to really have the time to show their warmest love with a touch of…

Too much to do

The butterfly fluttered, the bee buzzed, the rose bloomed

Unnoticed as mankind down their roads thoughtlessly zoomed

The tree grew, the eagle flew, and the squirrel did an acorn chew

Unnoticed as mankind chatted their phone ‘bout too much to do

The river flowed, the fish swam, and the beaver build a dam

Unnoticed as mankind typed their computers bout the use of spam

A child cried, a teenager…

THE TREE OF LIFE INSPIRES THE CALL OF THE HEART

As I dream of a better tomorrow by looking back into memories of days gone quickly and meaninglessly by,

Haunting thoughts of failing to do all I could and not better doing what I did flash painfully before my crying eye

Sure, I can eagerly claim I did my very best under the condition and circumstance of my truly terrifying time

But, heck, I know that such a deceptive argument is just a…
