What do you do if you are blessed with the gift to make the people around you smile, but you can't enjoy their same happiness?
What do you do when you can give people hope and motivation and they can hang on your every word, but you can't produce the results yet they still follow and forgive you.
what do you do when you try to follow the footsteps of great people who left a blue print only to find that half way through that their shoes are not your size?
What do you do…Continue
When it looks like I have failed
I ask, "Lord, what are You trying to tell me?"
Failure doesn't mean I'm a failure.
It does mean I haven't succeeded yet!
Failure doesn't mean I have accomplished nothing.
It does mean I have learned something!
Failure doesn't mean I have been a fool.
It does mean I had enough faith to try!
Failure doesn't mean I have been disgraced.
It does mean I dared to…Continue

I am not a person who enjoys conflict. I guess you could say that I am a pacifist in the sense that I would much rather avoid a confrontation than ruffle people's feathers. And for the record, I'm not perfect at not creating conflict, but it's not something I do intentionally. I would much rather stay quiet than cause problems. However, this also has the tendency to turn me into a doormat. Sometimes, you have to stand up for yourself or people will walk all over you. And that is the position…Continue

"Lord, I believe, help my unbelief!" - Mark 9:24
"How do you define 'sin'? I was asked that question by a reporter recently. My answer was very simple: Traditionally, sin has been defined as 'rebellion against God, an inner warfare between the self and God.'
"But think of sin as a golf ball. There is the outer skin. Then there is the tight inner workings, and finally at the core of every ball is one solid, little, hard rubber pellet. The skin of sin is rebellion. The…Continue

I am confused. That is my thought for the day. I have a friend that is dying and gets angry if anyone complains about their life . I understand that she is scared and tired and maybe feels cheated but why she acts as if no one has the right to complain about their life when we are all humane. I am not dying I know that but sometimes I am having a really crappy day and I want to whine, complain and scream. When I am done doing that I feel better I feel like I have released toxins and then…Continue
"When you pass through the waters I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not scorch you. For I am the Lord your God!" - Isaiah 43;2,3
"During the World War I, a soldier in the trenches saw his friend out in no-man's land - that ground between his trench and the trench of the enemy. His friend lay there…

I had a AWESOME talk with Gov-Na today. I must say that he's a brother that's right on point! I also learned something about myself and I thank him very much! I learned never to assume anything because what if your wrong. We also talked about people in general and how to reach others.
There is a difference between knowledge and understanding. Here's a example. Money. You know that if you go to a car lot to buy a car it will take money. Your understanding of money will tell you that…Continue
Life is a team game, and I am on Team Eye. Eye C U represents the concepts of Love, Learning and Communication, which are characteristics in which I strive to live by. If I am on Team Eye, or Eye C U, then that means that I am not Team Eye, or Eye C U, its a entity in which I am apart of. This entity called Eye C U stands upon Love, Learning and Communication, all of which are attributes that I strive to embrace, so I join the team and play the Game of Life.
This is important because…Continue

"The very hairs on your head are numbered... Do not fear, you are of more value than many sparrows." - Matthew 10:30 & 31
"William Cowper needed a miracle. He attempted suicide more than once. He put a rope around his neck and the rope broke. So he walked to the river, where he knew of a deep spot by the bridge, but there were so many people on the bridge, he could not jump. He went back home where he took an ornamental sword off the wall…Continue

I just wanted to let you know that the Love, Learning and Communication train is running strong. Eye C U is making a difference in people lives. Turning bad decisions into enlightening lessons, helping people the see the way in the midst of the darkness, as well as being there so people do not have to deal with the beast of loneliness.
I would like speak on how great Eye C U has been to me. When I have problems in life, I look to words of wisdom from Bob, to find my way. When I was…Continue
"Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray... the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous person avails much." - James 5:13-16
"Too many of us will simply not slow down long enough to hear God's voice until we enter the valley of suffering. If your suffering turns you to God, does it not become a blessing?
"The prophet Isaiah wrote, 'The year King Uzziah died I saw the Lord!' (Isaiah 6:1). Many a father and mother have been…Continue

"Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." - Matthew 5:4 RSV
"As a pastor, I am in the specialized work of dealing with the hurt, the lonely, the suffering, the sick and the dying. For over twenty years I have trudged the soft, green lawns of cemeteries with my arms around wives, husbands, fathers, mothers, relatives and friends. I have sat in hospitals and wept with those who were weeping. Believe me, I am not blind to the reality of…Continue
On this Father's Day morning, I found myself sitting at pond in Little Germany(Luray,Va) fishing, and feeling a certain way. I found myself a little upset because my mother was not there. I blamed my father for her absence, and I found myself blaming my father for a lot of other stuff. Then a epiphany hit me. I am the next step in evolution of my father, and its my job, to be better than he. Its not for me to sit around and be mad or in my feelings, its my job, to know better, and then do…Continue

I'm back from the woods, but I'll be going back this Saturday. I made a post and Gov-na asked a question that I found very interesting. "Could you pin point a single event that you can point to that opened your eyes?" I've never been asked that question and have never thought about it. As funny as it sounds I can pin point the exact date when my view on the world did change. 2-23-2012 was the morning I woke up…Continue
Just sitting here reflecting on this beautiful Sunday, and I just want to say "thank you" to the Creator. Thank you for bringing me through the decisions that I made in life. I made decisions that could have easily cost me my life, and you chose to see me through because of the bigger plan that you have me. I say this because I realize that it was my decisions that put me in those situations that were at times dangerous, or troublesome. I made choices to do things that I knew were not…Continue

So I've been watching the news lately, and reading some threads here on glp, in particular, there have been many armed rampages lately and that has got me to thinking about how this is going to impact our larger political system. I made this post in another thread, and was asked to make a thread out of this post, so here it goes:
When one of these crazies is on a rampage, and it is 300 cops versus one dude (thinking about the recent Canadian rampager),…

Hi. I'm new here. I have read several posts and enjoyed what I saw. Here's one of my thoughts.
About Us: Were real people that try our best. there are times were happy, get mad, and everything inbetween. Were not perfect and make tons of mistakes. We never give up though. We learn from others and share what we know. All knowledge should be free.
About You: What catagory do you fall in? Think about this. You have the haves and have nots. There are people that dont have a…Continue
