By William O’ConnorThe Daily BeastRon Stallworth made headlines in 2006 when a reporter uncovered the retired cop’s amazing story. When Stallworth was the first black police officer in Colorado Springs in the late ’70s, he went undercover and infiltrated the Colorado Ku Klux Klan, becoming not only the leader of his local chapter, but even playing the organization’s Grand Wizard for a fool. He uncovered not only the Klan’s plans around the country, but also the involvement of a significant number of military personnel from nearby bases.Stallworth operated over the phone with the KKK members, while a white undercover cop attended meetings using his name. Turkish archaeologists excavating a harbor site on the European side of the Bosphorus have unearthed a 1,200-year-old wooden object which they claim is the ancient equivalent of a tablet computer. The device was a notebook and tool - in one. The Byzantine invention was found within the remains of one of the 37 ships unearthed in the Yenikapi area of Istanbul, a site which has been at the center of excavations for the past 10 years. Also known as Theodosius Port, it was built in the late 4th century during the reign of the Byzantine Emperor Theodosius I and become the city's most important commercial port. Probably belonging to the ship's captain, the wooden object, whose cover is finely carved with decorations, is the size of a modern seven-inch tablet, but it's much thicker. It consists of a set of five overlaid rectangular panels carved with frames and covered with wax. Notes…Continue

Something new I did not know that adds a twist to this whole Ukraine-Russia crisis. Apparently, in 1994, the US, Uk and Russia signed an agreement with Ukraine that guaranteed it's sovereignty if it agreed to give up it's Soviet-era nukes. With Russia acting as it is, no country in the future would make such an agreement. This adds new stakes to the game we are playing and makes it our (the US) problem as we are liable for making sure we keep our end of the bargain.

Well, Gov, I wish we had posted this sooner because you sure we're on the right track. Hillary Clinton has compared what Putin is doing with what Hitler did in the '30s. But Luv and I can attest that you had it figured out first.
